Show-Tell & WOW!
Features
Kiosk Play
When operating in Play, Show-Tell & WOW! functions as a "perpetual salesman" that never sleeps and never slumbers! Show-Tell & WOW! will automatically attract patrons with a custom invitation message and image. When idle, Show-Tell & WOW! cycles between the cover/greeting image and message, help/invitation image and message, AND a random play of an active slideshow (slideshow consisting of images with optional audio message for each image). Capacity Since image and message files are accessed from the hard drive when slideshows are played, the only capacity limit is the size of your hard drive, or the one gigabyte Microsoft Access limit (content files are stored external to Show-Tell & WOW!, so the one gigabyte limit pertains to usage data, text descriptions, banners and configuration information within Show-Tell & WOW!). So whether your kiosk content consists of a few slideshows, or thousands of slideshows, performance will be virtually the same! Technically, Show-Tell & WOW! is limited to 1,048,575 slideshows and 4095 slides per slideshow (1 image per slide). Usage ReportsShow-Tell & WOW! comes with a host of "usage" reports, so you can find out what people are playing and when. Remote AdministrationBuilt into Show-Tell & WOW! are features that allow for convenient transfer of kiosk content from a kiosk content development computer (preferably in a quiet office) to a remote kiosk at a public site. Transfer can include as little or as much content as needed, allowing for transfer by floppy disk, zip disk, CD-ROM, network connection or dial up remote access software. Routing Reports to Disk FilesShow-Tell & WOW! has features which allow you to easily direct reports to a disk location. This is especially handy for capturing reports from a remote kiosk (that probably is not attached to a printer) on a floppy disk for viewing upon return to your office. The format of the report files (RTF) is accessible by most word processors. Multimedia Tools Specifying within Show-Tell & WOW! the programs you prefer to use for editing and creating WAV and JPG files will enable Show-Tell & WOW! to open those programs for editing and creating JPG and WAV files. Input DevicesTouchscreen, keypad, trackball and mouse options are available and help make kiosk projects affordable! Show-Tell & WOW! can be configured to AUTOMATICALLY switch between touchscreen input during business hours and keypad input after hours. Show-Tell & WOW! can also be configured to accept keypad and touchscreen input at the same time. Activity LogThe built-in "Activity Log" contains information about update creation and loading and usage data purges, keeping you informed about what was done and when. Content DirectoryThe "content directory" provides an easy to use structure for organizing and accessing slideshows by category and category sub-section much like the yellow pages in the phone book. The simple yet powerful directory ELIMINATES the need to do any custom linking or menu work when adding slideshows. The directory structure makes it a snap to organize and present hundreds or even thousands of slideshows! InBasketUsually, you have files on hand that you would like to use for a single new slideshow, and you can by-pass the InBasket and proceed directly with composing a new slideshow. In the event that you have files for several slideshows that you need to sort out, the InBasket allows for previewing and grouping prior to composing slideshows. SecurityKiosk (system operating in a protected enclosure in a public place) and content development (system in your office you use for composing slide-shows) copies of Show-Tell & WOW! can be protected with a password. Show-Tell & WOW! can be configured to skip the password when the system is starting in kiosk play mode. The default mode is to not require a password. |
